Leadership Coaching Cumbria

In today’s rapidly changing environment charity leaders are under constant pressure to create new and more effective and efficient ways of delivery, whilst having to secure ever-diminishing resources.

Life at the top can be tough at times and you can sometimes feel lonely.  Working with a coach can reduce your feeling of isolation and help you clarify and work towards your goals.

Coaching can help you:

  • Respond positively to change
  • Improve a working relationship with staff, volunteers or trustees
  • Improve specific skills
  • Think strategically and develop plans
  • Build confidence
  • Address work/life balance issues
  • Obtain a new job
  • Explore career options

What is Coaching

Coaching is about exploring your present situation and designing your future.  It involves building a one-to-one relationship with a coach and meeting regularly over a period of time to focus on topics and challenges of your choice.

Coaching is a partnership in which the coach helps you to achieve your personal best and to produce the results that you want.  It is about empowering you to challenge yourself and helping you realise your potential.

Working it out

Coaching:

  • Focuses on what you want, your goals, & how you can achieve them.
  • Encourages you to identify your values & how to live them in achieving your goals.
  • Challenges limiting beliefs & reinforces positive ones
  • Helps you to gain a new perspective & find options for moving forward
  • Helps you to identify priorities & solutions.

A coach’s role is not to provide answers to specific problems. It is to work as a facilitator helping to raise awareness through analysis and reflection, and therefore enabling you to formulate your own ideas and solutions.

Coachees have reported a wide range of benefits of coaching and these include: a sense of being able to see more clearly by talking out loud, feeling empowered because they have come up with the way forward themselves, and most of all feeling valued because someone has taken the time to listen to them.
